Volunteer opportunities at IPM 2020

Be a part of one of the largest agricultural events in North America, the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM), which makes its way to Lindsay for 2020.

The benefits to the host community are great, but we need your help to make it happen. The IPM moves to a new location each year, typically attracting about 80,000 visitors and resulting in an economic impact in the range of $25 million. More than that, the IPM provides an opportunity to show the world all the great things Kawartha Lakes has to offer, fostering business relationships and tourist trips for years to come. But there’s more … a portion of IPM profits will be donated to local groups/organizations in need.

An event of this scale couldn’t happen without the involvement of hundreds of volunteers from nearby communities. People are needed to assist with virtually every aspect of this four-day celebration of agriculture and rural living. The IPM features plowing competitions, hundreds of exhibitors, live entertainment in multiple venues, displays/demonstrations and a whole lot more.

To be a part of this event, download the fillable volunteer application form and email it to admin@plowingmatch.org.

Dates set for IPM 2020

Oct. 14 to 17, in and around the Lindsay Fairgrounds

Volunteers needed

An event of this scale would be impossible to put on without volunteerism. We need people's help in a wide range of activities, but we're not yet organized enough to start pulling together the teams needed.

However, if you're interested in signing up as a volunteer, you can do that. Send your name and contact information, as well as a description of how you'd like to help, to ipm2020@plowingmatch.org.

We thank you in advance.

Lindsay Fairgrounds, here we come

Tented City will be held at the Lindsay Fairgrounds (354 Angeline St. S.). With a variety of buildings and facilities at the Fairgrounds, Tented City will take on a new look with its many attractions, activities and hundreds of exhibitors.

Plowing competitions, parking and the popular RV Park will be held on nearby fields.

Check back here for more event details as they become available.
