Celebration of Excellence Gala - Friday, September 22

IPM 2017 and the Ontario Plowmen's Association invite you to join us at the 2017 Celebration of Excellence Gala. This year is sure to be action-packed --- we will be presenting awards to the Champion Plowing Competitors and crowning the Ontario Queen of the Furrow during the same event!
The Gala will be held at Brussels Arena, 800 Sports Dr, Brussels (Social Hour - 5:30 pm   Dinner - 6:30 pm). There are a limited number of tickets - order your tickets by August 25. Find out more here.

One thousand acres of farmers’ fields will transform into the Tented City, RV Park, Plowing Competition Fields and parking areas. This year, along with celebrating the 100th IPM, we will be celebrating Canada’s 150th Birthday.

The IPM 2017 Exhibitor Information Handbook is available online. Inside the handbook, you will find applications, maps and lots of information about exhibiting at the Match.

In preparation for hosting the 100th IPM in Canada’s 150th Birthday year, homeowners throughout Huron County have been creating and hanging barn quilts as part of the IPM beautification process. The Barn Quilts are hung for all to see! A Barn Quilt Trail map has been created for you to print and take on your Barn Quilt journey...find out more here.

 

 

 


Bruce Power donates $100,000 to the 2017 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo in Huron County

The 100th International Plowing Match and Rural Expo will run Sept. 19-23 on 1,000 acres of farmland near Walton, in Huron East. It’s expected 100,000 people will attend to learn more about modern farming, while exhibits and about 600 vendors will focus on education and promotion of rural living, lifestyles and businesses. There will also be historical demonstrations on farming’s past and an opening day parade, of which Bruce Power is the title sponsor. Find out more here.


IPM Cross Country Convoy on September 25, 2016

To kick off the 100th IPM and celebrate ‘one–year away,’ the IPM 2017 Entertainment Committee organized an IPM Cross County Convoy on September 25, 2016, the Sunday following IPM 2016 in Wellington County. More than 35 tractors travelled from the IPM 2016 Match Site to the Brussels Arena (a total of 51 km). Following their arrival, there was a Harvest Dinner and an Entertainment Show.

The Flag Has Been Passed From IPM 2016 to IPM 2017


During the Closing Ceremonies on September 24, 2016, Ron Faulkner, Chair of IPM 2016, passed the OPA flag to Chair of IPM 2017, Jacquie Bishop symbolizing the end of IPM 2016 and the start of the campaign for IPM 2017 to be held next September in Walton, Ontario. Accompanying Jacquie is Huron County Warden Paul Gowing and accompanying Ron is Wellington County Warden George Bridge.
