Classes 1 to 6

  • Winners and Reserve Winners will be awarded $300.00 and $200.00, respectively for groups in classes 1 to 6.

  • Winners and Reserve Winners for groups in Classes 1 to 6 will each receive a plaque sponsored by MGM Townsend Tire Londesborough.

  • Additional money to assist with travel expenses will be awarded to all junior and senior contestants who enter the Canadian Championships in 2008 prior to their departure for that competition.

Class 2 Group 2 - sponsored by Gordon Bradfield
Gordon Bradfield is sponsoring the champion $300.00 and the Reserve Champion $200.00 for Class 2, Group 2.

Junior Champion Tractor Plowperson
The Winner and Reserve Winner competing in Class 2, Group 2 (born in 1988 -1991) will be eligible to compete at the 2008 Canadian Junior Championship Plowing Contest. Registration fees will be provided for the winner and reserve who enter the Canadian Championship.

Ontario Championship Tractor Class
The winner and runner-up in Class 5 Group 1 will be eligible to represent Ontario at the 2008 Canadian Championship Plowing Contest. The winner and runner-up in Class 5
Group 2 will be eligible to represent Ontario in the 2008 Canadian Championship Plowing Contest. Registration fees will be provided for those eligible contestants.

“SCHOLARSHIP”   $2,500.00 - sponsored by Petro Partners

All contestants entered in the 2007 International Plowing Match and born between 1988 - 1991 may be eligible for the $2,500 Scholarship. Contestants must indicate on their entry form if they wish to compete for this scholarship.
Two winners will each be awarded the scholarship of $2,500 towards a program (minimum 2 years) at one of Ontario’s Universities or Colleges of Technology or other institution as approved by the OPA  Executive.
Applications and Rules governing the Scholarship may be obtained from the Branch Association Secretaries. Scholarships must be claimed within 5 years of the Award.

SPECIALS

Best Going Plow Team
Walking and Sulky - Perpetual Trophy and keeper medallions donated by Frank Arnold. Frank served as OPA Director for Prince Edward County from 1988-1997 and 1999-2001.

Best Show Team
Ribbons first to sixth.

Harold Nie Memorial Special
A fifty dollar cash award will be presented to the first time competitor with the highest aggregate score in Class 1. Marion Nie donates this award in memory of her late husband, who was a long time horse plowman.

The Robert Taylor Memorial Trophy
The Robert Taylor Memorial Trophy will be presented to the first time competitor with the highest aggregate score in Class 2 Groups 1 or 2. Mr. Taylor was the OPA  director from Brant-Six Nations for many years and served as OPA  President in 1994 and more recently represented OPA on the Canadian Plowing Organization.

Fred and Helen Davenport Memorial
A pocket watch will be presented to the 1st time tractor-plowing competitor with the highest aggregate score in four days of plowing. Fred was an OPA director for 15 years.

Elliot Moses Memorial Special
A piece of Native pottery will be presented to the contestant with the greatest number of points in Group 1 and Group 2 in Class 2, 3 or 4 who was born after 1988. Contestant must compete each day that plowing competition is held during the match. This award, donated by the Moses family, is in memory of Elliot Moses, from Oshweken, who was OPA President in 1933 and was a Director for 33 years, until 1960.

Sidney Sisler Memorial Trophy Special
Sidney Sisler Memorial Trophy presented to the Junior Champion Tractor Plowperson.

John S. Moffatt Memorial Trophy
To be awarded to the Top Drag Plow winner. This trophy is in loving memory of John S. Moffatt and is donated by his wife Elizabeth and family.

Gordon Bradfield Special
Gordon Bradfield will present a trophy to the Contestant with the highest aggregate score in Classes 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Gordon is currently the secretary of the Peterborough Plowmen's Association and an IPM judge.

Orville and Ruth Fried Special
$200.00 and a Coat and Hat to be awarded per contestant qualifying to compete in the Canadian Championships, Senior Class. Orville is a past plowman and currently is an IPM Judge. He and Ruth are very active in the Oxford-Blenheim Plowmen’s Association.

Norwell Dairy Systems and DeLaval Special
$200.00 and a coat and hat to be awarded per contestant qualifying to compete in the Canadian Championships, Junior Class.

Kiwanis SAGE of Ottawa Inc. Special
In addition to previously noted prize money, the contestant with:
a) the highest score in Group 7 will receive $300.00
b) The second highest score in Group 7 will receive $200.00
c) The third highest score in Group 7 will receive $100.00
A perpetual plaque and keeper trophy will also be presented to the winner of the Class 7.
