Scoring Criteria for the IPM Plowing


Categories (10 points for each item)	Points

Crown • Straightness • Closeness & Conformity • Burying Grass & Stubble • Soil Available	40
General Work • Covering Grass • Closeness & Packing (no holes) • Primness • Soil Available	40
Finish • Finish • Grass & Neatness • Shallowness & Narrowness • Soil Available	40
General Appearance • Straightness • Conformity • Distinctness of Furrow • Uniformity & Shape of Furrows • Shape of Land • Ins & Outs	60

Total Points	200

In some instances contestants may be assigned penalty points for infringement of rules.

In most cases, 1 judge scores all contestants in one category.

In some classes, 2 and sometimes 4 judges are used. The scores for these classes are averaged to give a total score out of 200.

The horse classes are not judged on an opening split so their score is judged out of 180.
