Dear Friends:

We sincerely hope this letter finds you in good health and enjoying the last few weeks of fall before winter approaches!

Already, there is less than a year to go until the International Plowing Match (IPM) in Elgin County and the pivotal milestone it will mark. In 2010, the Queen of the Furrow program will celebrate 50 years of enriching the development of young women in Ontario.

In celebration of this achievement, we are assembling a commemorative table book of photos and stories from the past 50 years. This book will not only provide readers with history and a snapshot of the program, but also reflections and personal memories of past Queens’ experiences.

You assistance is needed to bring this project to reality! We are seeking your memories, stories and photos – long or short, old or new!

(Yes! We will transcribe your story, so please call & share your story!)

All photos and/or mementos will be digitized and originals returned.

Books will be available for sale and will be delivered following the 2010 IPM. You may use the attached form to pre-order for $50 with your material submission. All proceeds, after production costs, will be donated to Canadian Breast Cancer Society.

Look for us at events across Ontario this winter, collecting stories and promoting fifty years of furrows, crowns and gowns! Be sure to stop and share your story or get in touch with us today! Deadline for material submission is January 31, 2010.

Our sincere regards,

Jennifer Christie, Ontario Queen of the Furrow, 2005-06
