RAIN CLOSES IPM 2018 Tented City for the Remainder of Thursday September 20

Due to persistent rainfall, organizers of the 2018 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo have closed Tented City for the remainder of Thursday, September 20th.

“We are closing Tented City because of our concern for the safety of our visitors, volunteers, and exhibitors − and because we need to maintain the integrity of the land,” said Cathy Lasby, Executive Director of the Ontario Plowmen’s Association.”

The International Plowing Match for 2018 is happening now.
We have assembled what we think is a stellar lineup of
entertainment 
and informative displays for you to attend.
Check back daily to see some highlights of each day!

Horse Plowing - 10am
Afternoon Plowing - 11am

 

Francophone Day - Championnat international des labours et exposition rurale 2018

French-speaking volunteers will showcase the displays and activites.

Venez vivre l'expérience du Concours international de labour et expo rurale (CIL) en français! Le 20 septembre, les kiosques dans les tentes éducationnelles [éducatives] auront des francophones sur place pour vous accueillir. Si disponible, l'information dans les kiosques sera bilingue. Une expérience unique pour nos francophones et francophiles, petits et grands!

Come experience the International Plowing Match & Rural Expo (IPM) in French! On September 20th, the kiosks in the educational tents will have francophones on site to welcome you. If available, the information in the kiosks will be bilingual. A unique experience for our Francophones and Francophiles, young and old!

World Records Tent at 10:30am

Join in as we attempt to break the record for Most People Bobbing for Apples at One Time.  The current record is 597.

Ram Rodeo Tour Ring at 12pm & 2:30pm

The very popular RAM Rodeo Tour is back at the 2018 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo!
At the Rodeo you will see events including Bareback, Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping,
Bull Riding and Team Roping; come and join the excitement!!


Canadian Cowgirls Precision Drill Team

The Canadian Cowgirls are an elite rodeo-style precision drill team that hails from Chatham-Kent!
They consists of 28 spectacular women and brilliant horses who are all tied together by a common bond - Pride in being Canadian.
The Canadian Cowgirls will be preforming with a variety of different horse breeds including the Quarter Horse,
Appaloosa, Arabian, Paint, and the dependable grade horse.


Team Farmall Dancing Tractors

After approximately 3,500 man hours of practice time and drivers' investments in tractors, valued at $7,500 per tractor,
Team Farmall is ready to perform.
The square dance, comprised of traditional calls that all square dance enthusiasts recognize, is combined with precision driving which makes the performance fun,
not only for Team Farmall, but for all who come to watch!

Farmers are always learning from not only themselves but from family and neighbours: from one another.
The popular daily Tailgate Talks are back.
Thursday's talk is Succession and Tax Planning for the Farm Family.
