Kathryn Chant is the 2015-2016 Ontario Queen of the Furrow
Finch - Before a packed crowd on Thursday evening, Kathryn Chant representing Grenville County, was crowned the 2015-2016 Ontario Queen of the Furrow. Kathryn faced competition from 23 other candidates from across Ontario. The other four Finalists were Bonnie Jean-Ward from Durham County, Grace Mullen from Essex County, Julie Thompson of Peel Dufferin, and Kathryn Ringelberg of South Wentworth. Julie Thompson was second runner-up and Kathryn Ringelberg was first runner-up. Plowing winners were: 1st - Kathryn Ringelberg, South Wentworth, 2nd - Stephanie Campbell, Chatham Kent, 3rd - Cassandra Chornoboy, Wellington, 4th - Stephanie Huitema, Haldimand Oneida and 5th - Bonnie Jean-Ward, Durham County. Kathryn Chant of Grenville and Julie Thompson of Peel Dufferin each won a $500 scholarship from BMO. Also winning were Jessica Sills, Hastings (Friendship Award) and Emily Scott of Oxford Blenheim (Dream Believer Achievement Award).
