Summer Job Opportunities

We are delighted to have received approval to hire 5 individuals for a period of 8 weeks this summer (through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant). The start time is flexible but the positions end by September 2, 2023.

Each participant has to meet these requirements for funding:

Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection under Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (S.C. 2001, c27); and
Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation.

Rate of pay is $17.50 per hour for up to 35 hours per week.

Job Descriptions:

Agricultural Project Coordinator (Special Events Coordinator)—Plan and activate a special agricultural display at the IPM that will showcase the importance of Agriculture and Food in Dufferin County.
Media Relations/Marketing Assistant (Media Relations Coordinator)—Post news items on Local Event Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media. Update event information for local website. Monitor and respond to media inquiries. Work in Local Event Office to assist committees and co-workers in preparing information.
Information Coordinator (Souvenirs)—Coordinate and promote IPM by attending events such as farmers’ markets, fairs, etc. to sell IPM Souvenirs and generally promote the event. Act as a primary contact for local committees; assist local committees in implementing their plans. Conduct souvenir sales and inventory management.
Office Administrative Assistant—Assist with day-to-day office operations during the busiest season, manage and distribute information to committees, answer phones and emails, maintain files, records and reports.
General Labourer—Develop the physical event venue (e.g., painting posts and benches; posting signs, coordinating exhibit space, etc.) for various committees of Tented City and RV Park.
